Bell, his wife, Mabel Gardiner Hubbard, and his two daughters.
A man, as a general rule, owes very little to what he is born with - a man is what he makes of himself.
- Alexander Graham Bell
There were many personal struggles that Bell faced throughout his life. His mother was deaf which made communicating complicated between the two. Later in the years, both his brothers died in the duration of five years due to health problems. Bell at the time also noticed his health deteriorating. So the remaining family moved to Canada in order to better his health. While being a professor, he met Mabel Gardiner Hubbard, a deaf student, who he eventually became his wife. Again, there wasn’t a normal, simple way to communicate but that didn’t stop him from starting a family with Mabel. Most people might find having a deaf mother or a deaf wife as unfortunate luck but Bell’s perspective was something else. Starting a family and aiding the hearing impaired people, Bell took his situations and created positive changes in his and other’s lives.
